Sharing via LTI

Using LTI

Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) is a way of enabling secure integration between learning management systems (LMSs) and external tools so that information can be shared safely. LTI allows learning designers to plug-in external resources, content and activities available online into an LMS that may not have the capability of creating those resources. Learn more about LTI.

To share a scenario via LTI you need to create a key and secret and share those details, along with the scenario link, with the receiving LMS. The steps below will show you how to create your key and secret and where to find your LTI share link.

Steps

  • Open the project with the scenario that you want to link to an LMS via LTI
  • From the scenario list, click on the Project button and select Edit

Edit project to create LTI credentials

  • Click the purple plus button to create the LTI consumer credentials

Click purple add button to add LTI key and secret

  • Create a key and secret made up of letters (mix upper and lowercase) and numbers without spaces

Add your LTI key and secret

  • Save and go to the Canvas of the scenario you’d like to embed in your LMS using LTI.
  • Select the share button and copy the LTI link
